Up for sale is an ultra-rare vintage Casio W-47 men’s digital sports watch, powered by Module 549, and produced exclusively for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. This model is one of Casio’s early water-resistant digital chronographs, featuring the classic square case design that defined the brand’s golden era of digital sports watches.
The watch is in full working condition, with all features and functions operating properly, including timekeeping, alarm, chronograph, and backlight.
It is currently fitted with an aftermarket strap, as the original strap has deteriorated from age, though the replacement suits the original design well.
The watch shows moderate signs of use, consistent with age, but remains in overall great shape for its vintage. The photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
